m365_delete_event

Microsoft 365 · macOS · Windows

Effect: delete (strongest supported action). Status: gated.

Gated means the tool requires an installed app, a connected account, permission, or runtime availability. Check those requirements on the listed platform before using it.

macOS

Purpose

Deletes an event from the connected Microsoft 365 / Outlook calendar by its id (from m365_list_events). If the user organizes the meeting and it has attendees, Microsoft 365 sends them a cancellation. For a recurring event the id from m365_list_events is the whole series: deleting it removes every occurrence. Requires confirm=true; without it nothing is deleted. Tell the user which event it is (subject and date) before confirming — the id alone does not say. For the Mac's Calendar app use delete_calendar_event instead.

Required inputs

Permissions and confirmation

Explicit confirmation parameter: inspect the schema and tool description before any real call. The documentation example keeps confirm false. Obtain user authorization before performing the action.

Windows

Purpose

Deletes an event from the calendar of the connected Microsoft 365 account by its ID: the `ID:` line that m365_list_events or m365_create_event returns. Without confirm=true nothing is deleted, but the reply is not a preview of the event: it only echoes the ID and does not look the event up, so read it back with m365_list_events and tell the user its title and time before confirming. With confirm=true the event is deleted in Microsoft 365 through Microsoft Graph; when the user is the organizer of a meeting, Microsoft 365 sends the attendees a cancellation. This server has no tool to restore a deleted event. An ID that no longer exists returns 'item not found'.
